Znode

How do you tidy a cart full of websites?

Amla Commerce, the engine behind B2B ecommerce platforms Znode and Artifi, had three separate websites in their cart—each critical to their brand but housed in a clunky, outdated CMS that couldn’t keep pace with their speed-to-market ambitions. From messy integrations to abandoned content, the checkout line was long. Enter Flywheel: their trusted partner ready to re-platform, refactor, and streamline operations across the Amla ecosystem. It was time to take control of the cart.

The mission was to migrate amla.io, znode.com, and artifilabs.com from Umbraco to a shared Sitefinity multisite instance. Though scoped as a “lift and shift,” the real opportunity was to organize the digital shelf, streamline internal workflows, and equip the Amla marketing team with a web presence they could manage themselves.

Gather.

Manual handling in the digital aisle.
Amla’s marketing team was juggling content across three brand websites—each requiring developer support for even basic updates. Their fragmented lead capture relied on third-party tools, and responsiveness was hit or miss. With Sitefinity selected as the new platform, Flywheel stepped in to scope a multi-site migration that would reduce friction, increase flexibility, and allow the team to own and operate their digital storefronts without engineering support.

Standardize the shelf, clean the cart.
With Znode as the heaviest SKU in the cart, Flywheel used its complexity to set the blueprint. A thorough design audit uncovered brand consistency, accessibility, and redundancy opportunities—like too many shades of green. Flywheel formalized a design system that consolidated shared components across brands while preserving their unique flavours. When integration needs arose—like using native Sitefinity forms and integrating them with HubSpot—Flywheel adapted swiftly, designing a Zapier-based solution that kept data flowing.

From a cluttered backend to self-serve delivery.
Each site was rolled out in its own development phase—but within one Sitefinity instance. This approach enabled shared architecture, centralized media, and seamless toggling between sites for the Amla team. Customizations like a unified blog feed across all three brands and a smart redirect system added polish and functionality. Flywheel also produced tailored training materials—so by the third rollout, the Amla team was confidently managing content entry solo. “They really took ownership of their websites,” Flywheel noted. “And that’s the win.”

Now their team can check out faster.
Post-launch, the biggest win wasn’t aesthetic—it was operational. Amla’s marketing team can now spin up landing pages, launch new campaigns, and support product rollouts without developer bottlenecks. A 50+ page content backlog is finally being addressed. Page creation that used to take days now happens in hours. With Sitefinity Insight and personalization on the roadmap, the platform is primed to drive future ecommerce growth. “We’ve moved from a restrictive CMS to one that truly empowers us,” said Allison Gugala, Director of Marketing.
